Volunteer
Since 1997, NewLife Behaviour has prepared many Spiritual Workers to teach the study material to many groups of inmates throughout the country.  This network of Directors, Coordinators, Instructors and Administrators enables the inmate-student to continue the NLB lessons when he/she is transferred to another institution.

You can volunteer as:
  • A Teacher.  Instructors are needed in the prisons, congregations and for other types of group settings (Military bases, Bible Schools, etc.)
  • A Co-teacher. Options include one-on-one correspondence study with pre-assigned or specifically requested inmates and/or members of an inmate’s family.
  • A Mentor. Every inmate needs a mentor (counselor, mother/father image). Usually the co-teacher becomes the mentor.
  • A Congregational Coordinator. NewLife Behaviour Ministries will provide training and help you:
1) organize volunteers on trips to visit with inmates and their families,
2) host special events for inmates and their families at the correctional facility,
3) organize individual or correspondence study groups.

A Financial Supporter
As a no-profit organization, NewLife Behaviour Ministries relies heavily upon contributions and accepts one-time, monthly and yearly pledges

Coffin and furniture building project
Knowing how difficult it is to maintain preachers in rural areas, we have come up with an idea for a small business to help some of them support themselves, building coffins and furniture. But to get the business going, some capital layout is needed.  So, what we are requesting is a ONCE-OFF donation.

The benefits are:
  1. Very little skills are required.
  2. Small capital layout.
  3. Constant need for product.
  4. Job creation opportunity.
  5. Expansion possibilities.
  6. Meeting people that need the comfort of the church.

Requirements:

  1. Hand tools
  2. Workshop with store space for panels
  3. Trailer

Prospect for pilot project:
David Louw is a multi-skilled preacher in the Wolmaransstad area.  He started working with NLB in the Boksburg prison some year back.  With his ability to talk most of the local languages and his knowledge of the bible and his enthusiasm for the truth, he converted many inmates. One of those inmates was, Petrus Atisang who, after being baptized and released from prison, asked us to come to his hometown to help him spread the news there.

This we did and a small congregation was established in Wolmaransstad.  However, they needed a preacher and David use to travel about more than 300 kilometres every second week, which became once a week. However, as the congregations were growing, the need for a full time worker also grew.  As a result of his efforts, other congregations have also been established in that area. David managed to get some support from various places and individuals, but he is struggling.  With very little money, he supports a large family and travels far to preach the gospel.

So, we believe this is an ideal opportunity to help this man to set up a small business that will sustain him and hopefully in the future also others.

Control system

As possible donors you would like to know who will get the money and how it will be spent. We thought it best to run the operation under the management of New Life Behaviour Ministries.  As many of you know, NLBM is registered in South Africa as a Non-profitable organization and as such under financial scrutiny.  Hence, fiscal reports will be forthcoming. Please keep in mind that this is a ONCE-OFF DONATION.
